Chair for Quality Engineering of Open Distributed Systems
The Chair for Quality Engineering of Open Distributed Systems (QDS) is lead by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ina Schieferdecker  and has been created January 1, 2016 at Technische Universität Berlin, Institute for Telecommunication Systems. Before, Prof. Schieferdecker lead 2011-2015 the Chair for Model-Driven Engineering of Software-Based Systems at the Institute for Computer Science at Freie Universität Berlin and 2003-2011 the Chair on Design and Testing of Telecommunication Systems at Technische Universität Berlin, Institute for Telecommunication Systems.
QDS cooperates closely with the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (Fraunhofer FOKUS ), which is led by Prof. Schieferdecker together with Prof. Hauswirth. Furthermore, Prof. Schieferdecker is President of the Association for Software Quality and Education (ASQF ), Member of the German National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech ), Member of the German Testing Boards (GTB ) and Co-Founder of Testing Technologies IST GmbH (now Spirent Technologies GmbH ) and of Ingrano Solutions GmbH (Ingrano ).
The various links to research outside of university and to industries are being used in QDS in teaching, for BSc, MSc, and PhD theses as well as for projects.
